PROJECTS

Throughout the years, Living Water Well has completed several projects.  We have provided help and supplies to those in need. Here is a look of some of the projects we had the opportunity to be apart of.

2015 DR FOR A SERVICE LEARNING TRIP

In 2015 four students traveled to the DR for a Service Learning Trip where we traveled to the Northern Mountains are Jarabacoa and worked with the students of the Environmental School.

We cleared fields for planting which led to the sustainable sweet potato field for all to come and gather yams as needed by the community.

Students met and debriefed from the day’s work and discussed their experiences which aligned with the United Nations Environmental Sustainability guidelines.

2017 DR FOR A SERVICE LEARNING TRIP

Four Students traveled to the DR for a Service Learning Trip where we traveled to Cabaretes and worked with a Girls’ Empowerment Program entitled Mariposa. Mariposa means butterfly symbolizes the universal transformation, freedom and peace. In the DR, it was the code name for the Mirabel  sisters who fought against social injustice and died as heroines for freedom.

The four young ladies were forever changed by learning this history, and working at the facility that bears their legend and stokes the fire of equity in the lives of young women.  We assisted in Mariposa’s preparation for Earth Day and their celebration of Earth and Life.
